Protecting things from external influences, keeping them safe always and everywhere, that is the task of a suitcase. Since 1898, Rimowa suitcases have been protecting the most important things when travelling. Like the vacuum, they manage to safely shield everything inside them from external influences.
Now the suitcase changes from protecting to being protected. The vacuum shields it from external influences. The icon is frozen in time. The suitcase is no longer directly visible through the grey textile, but it is still immediately recognisable. The textile nestles tightly around the suitcase and draws out all the unmistakable shapes and details. The grooves stand out and it is immediately clear that it is a Rimowa suitcase. Due to the surrounding textile, the whole focus is on the shape, the straight lines, the grooves of the icon. The haptic perception of the suitcase is also changed by the surrounding textile. The cold and hard aluminium gives way to a warm and soft textile.
In this way, the world-famous suitcase appears in a new perspective without losing its iconic shape.
